Sanctuary • 10:00 a.m.
Fundamentals of the Faith is a class designed to familiarize those new to Christianity or remind those who have been saved for some time, of the essential elements of the Christian faith. It has proven useful to the full range of the Church in informing and refreshing us of who our God is and who we are in that relationship. We will cover a broad range of topics such as; The Bible, its origins and content, Studying that Bible systematically, The Nature, Character and Personhood of God, etc. . Coming from divergent backgrounds, we don’t always deal with spiritual matters in a Biblical manner, but often from traditions. This course brings the authority of God’s Word as our directive and guide. We’ll meet weekly in the sanctuary at 10AM, discuss the homework assignments from the previous week and talk over points for clarity and expansion. You’ll need a Bible, writing instrument and 1″- 3 ring binder.
Evangelism Explosion • Mark Sterr & Nathan Wright
Sanctuary Downstairs in the Choir Room • 10:00 a.m.
The purpose of this 7-8 week course will be to build upon the foundation of the “Share Your Faith” workshop, which was conducted at Mesa Hills on 8/19/17. The training involves extensive memory of the basic outline that EE has developed on how to effectively start a conversation with someone and share the Gospel with them. It includes the use of numerous Bible verses, simple illustrations, personal testimony, leading questions, and basic Gospel truths that altogether present a case for Christ. In addition to the classroom training, there will be On the Job Training (time TBD) where we go out into the neighborhood to engage people in spiritually-minded conversations using the tools learned in the classroom.
